Donavan Ng: world class leadership

This legacy portrait is of Pastor Donavan Ng, Pastor emeritus of the Wing Wong church in Hong Kong. 

I sensed a very strong prophetic word from Ezequiel 37 concerning Pastor Donavan Ng. I believe the Lord is using him to raise up a strong army of leaders who will have a world-wide impact to advance the Kingdom of God. I thought of the prophet speaking to the dry bones. As he spoke (preached, taught, counseled, prayed over and prophesied) over the dry bones, they came together (structure and organization), took on flesh and life, became a mighty army, and were filled with the Spirit. I see this in the pastoral ministry of Pastor Donavan. From the dry bones, he has created a mighty and motivated church, (an army) with worldwide impact. 

The semi-abstract painting shows Donavan and before him on the lower left some jagged shapes, an abstraction that might represent the bones. Then over his shoulder a large figure-like shape in reddish tones. The bones are becoming flesh. Beyond that there is another shape, curiously female. The army is being formed (and we know his successor is female.) 

I did research on color in China. From what I could learn, the 2 most important colors for the Chinese are red (prosperity and happiness) and yellow (symbolizing courage and leadership … the emperor). I felt it was important to give dominance to these 2 colors. To a lesser degree, I used their complementary colors, green and purple to give more vitality to the painting’s primary colors.
